Abstract |
Handoff in
heterogeneous wireless networks will provide wider choice and
higher quality of service (QoS) to the users. Heterogeneous
networks consisting of Worldwide Interoperability for
Microwave Access (WiMAX) and Wireless Fidelity (WiFi) networks
are being deployedworldwide. This paper describes the modality
of multi-attribute decision making methods in vertical handoff
for wireless networks. Multiple attribute for decision making
including user preference will increase the complexity of
handoff process. Various approaches have been proposed to
solve the complexity problem of handoff decision. In this
paper, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, is used for
weight estimation and then preference ranking organization
method for enrichment evaluations (PROMETHEE) is proposed for
handoff decision from WiMAX to WiFI. |
